Making EPR Fulfillments
Smarter, Faster and Better.

Hassle Free EPR compliance for PIBOs (Producers, Importers and Brand Owners) and Recyclers .

The Problem At Hand

PIBOs (Producers, Importers and Brand Owners) lack expertise when it comes to collection and disposal of their post-consumer plastic waste.

Recyclers and co-processors, on the other hand, lack structure and a systemic process to maintain documents.

FAQs

For PIBO’s

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) as per Plastic Waste Management Rules 2016 is the responsibility of a producer, importers and brand owners (PIBOs) for the environmentally sound management of the product until the end of its life.
India generates around 25,900 tons of plastic waste per day. And at least 40% of it goes uncollected causing environmental hazards. Delivering reliable collection and recycling systems for household packaging waste and other packaging waste is expensive, and they can only be run effectively if all the companies introducing packaging and packaged goods to the market, contribute. Through EPR government is hoping to ensure enough resources are dedicated to plastic waste collection and scientific disposal. Government’s decision to implement EPR is in line with plastic waste management in European countries.
All kinds of plastic, that come into the market through PIBOs, come under the ambit of EPR. It includes post-consumer recyclable as well as non-recyclable plastic waste.
At moment, pollution control board is emphasizing and asking companies to do EPR for 100% of the quantity of plastic produced or used.
EPR is for post-consumer plastic waste i.e. discarded plastic after intended use. Industrial plastic waste (pre-consumer) is not under the ambit of EPR.

For Recyclers

India generates around 25,900 tons of Plastic waste per day. And at least 40% of it goes uncollected causing environmental hazards. Plastic waste management without the involvement of private
companies is difficult.

Once these documents are verified and separate agreement signed, a physical visit will be arranged, upon the successful visit your registration will be completed. Please call Poonam +91-8888758647
The fees paid for EPR implementation are spread across all the packaging items concerned, the additional cost per item is not significant and is unlikely to be noticed by individual consumers. For instance, if company uses plastic packaging weighing 10 gms to pack its product then considering the EPR cost of INR 5,000/- per tonne, the EPR fees per packet comes to just INR 0.05 (5 paise).

Activities can be broadly classified into three categories

Collection: of segregated plastic waste, sorting, and baling for efficient transportation
Scientific Disposal: transportation to the authorised processor for scientific disposal
Compliance Documentation: submission of disposal certificates along with other documents that give transparency and traceability

Please refer to How It Works section for better understanding.
SAKSHAM allows you to see and verify each step of collection, transportation, and processing through documentary evidence backed by technology validation. SAKSHAM’S metadata based back- end technology automatically detects the location from where photos are taken and uploaded confirming actual material movement. On top of that confirmation from scrapdealer and cross data validation AI tool bring more transparency.

Companies can fulfil EPR in three ways

c. Outsource work to EPR agencies like Social Lab (SAKSHAM)

EPR fulfilment charges are based on geography, type of plastic material and the quantity. Please reach out to Shailesh Shinde +91-9594259275 or shailesh@social-lab.in to discuss in detail.

CPCB has, from time to time, given guidelines on various ways of scientific disposal.
a. Co-processing in Cement kilns b. Usage in road construction c. Pyrolysis (Waste to Oil) d. Mechanical Recycling

We value our customer’s TRUST. Each document is checked and verified by the SAKSHAM platform. SAKSHAM’s back-end technology automatically detects the location from where photos are taken and uploaded. In-built cross data validation AI tool captures the discrepancy in forged documents.

Recyclers and scrap dealers we work with are thoroughly informed about the consequences of forging the documents. These measures ensure that forged documents are detected and dealt with strict measures. You can refer to How It Works section as well
